Newsletter 26: Term 4 2026

“If we want our children to flourish in a globalized world, we must give them the gift of a second language”
— Arne Duncan (Former U.S. Secretary of Education)

As we approach the end of another wonderful year of engaging with language, we invite you to join us in celebrating the achievements, learning, and connections that have shaped the Early Childhood Language Program throughout 2026. This term offers plenty of opportunities to connect with colleagues through our network meetings, where we will share successes, reflect on our learning and look ahead to future possibilities for language education.

We are also excited to share a newly released ECLP in Action video featuring Woodhouse Grove Kindergarten, showcasing how singing has been embedded into daily practice to engage children in language learning. Be sure to explore the accompanying My Professional Practice article, From Melody to Meaning: Why Singing Matters in Language Learning, where you can access the video and discover how music supports meaningful language experiences for young children.
