PROFESSIONAL LEARNING WEBINAR

Puppets for Learning in Language

This webinar is open to everyone involved in delivering the ECLP at your service. Join us for an engaging webinar on using puppets for language learning, guided by the ECLP concept of 'Keep it Interactive.'

In this session, we explore how interactive and responsive contexts using puppets significantly enhance language engagement. By leveraging opportunities for conversation, actions, and gestures, through puppetry we can create environments more conducive to learning, facilitating engagement and active participation in the program.

This webinar includes:

  • 10 Tips for making a puppet come alive.

  • Using a puppet so YOU feel comfortable doing so

  • Using a puppet for settling children and promoting engagement

  • Using a puppet to make language more accessible for learning

Note that this session is NOT about performing a puppet show for children.  It is about using puppets as a "tool" to enhance learning opportunities.

This learning module is designed for all teachers and educators engaged in delivering the Early Childhood Language Program, to explore the skills, knowledge, and practices that early childhood professionals need to engage children in the language program.

We have designed this learning session to be conducted as a professional development opportunity for your whole team, to encourage meaningful discussion and planning for action together. However, where that is not possible the module is also suited to individual access.

We hope this learning module is meaningful for your program, we welcome your input to build on the skills, resources, and support for the whole Early Childhood Language Program cohort of early childhood professionals.

Before proceeding, we recommend you have permission from your manager to engage in this activity to ensure you are compensated for your time. We expect that this learning module will take approximately 1.5 hours to complete.

This webinar was run live on 28th August 2024
