The beauty of linguistic diversity is that it reveals to us just how ingenious and flexible the human mind is. Human minds have invented not one cognitive universe but 7,000, there are 7,000 languages spoken around the world.

As we step into Term 3, we carry with us the energy, inspiration, and deep sense of connection sparked by the ECLP Annual Forum, held on the 8th of May. What a truly memorable celebration of our Early Childhood Language Program (ECLP) community!

The day was filled with rich learning and heartfelt moments. We were privileged to hear from Associate Professor Nick Kelly, who challenged and inspired us with his keynote on design framing —a powerful lens for shaping intentional and impactful educational experiences. Equally moving was Anthony Semann’s keynote on authentic identity, which invited us to reflect deeply on who we are as educators and leaders, and how we bring our whole selves to our work.

One of the most touching moments of the day came from Spanish teacher Pilar alongside her delightful puppet Caracol the snail. They reminded us of the beauty of intimacy, storytelling, and connection in early childhood settings. It was a moment that truly captured the heart of what we do.

The day also featured a vibrant array of workshops, where ideas flowed freely, and participants engaged in meaningful dialogue and hands-on exploration. The networking and sharing throughout the forum were a testament to the strength and generosity of our ECLP community.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the forum such a success. It was a wonderful celebration of the passion, creativity, and language that define the ECLP.

Here’s to a fantastic Term 3—let’s keep the momentum going!
